  • Kilrin raises Grugain from the dead.


  • Nasaug and Fendira scry on Marlos.
  • See a great cavern with a giant shifting stone monalith.
  • At base, see cultists with Marlos performing a ritual. Marlos holds up Iron Fang (hammer). They are chanting in Terran casting a summoning spell.
  • Marlos sees the floating eye and says: “Origmoth will carve forth and destroy this land.” Mountain shifts trying to get out.
  • Fendira falls down and is stunned.

Fane of the Eye

  • Still searching for the entrance to the earth node
  • Find stone statue with carvings. Room is filled with magic. Turns out to be a protection spell around a crypt. We destroy the magic and leave (oops).
  • Find earth node in crystal tic tac toe room.

Earth Node

  • Enter earth node and fight some dudes.
Session 49
Death of OG (Original Grugain)
  • We get heals
  • Found a narwhal tooth that tugs at the water (worth 10 000gp)
  • It acts as a scrying pool when it’s stuck in the water and we see another random room cause we didn’t know how to use it.
  • We follow the currents in the dungeon
  • We find a stone hut
  • We fight water weirs
  • They eventually run away
  • Wet hut is discovered (not sure about this)
  • There’s a waterfall and we manage to navigate it safely in the boat
  • We find a lake with an island
  • Floating above it = shimmering globe of water = The Node

Fendira contributes heavily to Grugain’s death and his Shield Guardian’s but not before Grugain sets off a bunch of fantasy grenades in the stomach of the monster that tried to eat him, cause Grugain don’t play that shit like no punk ass B. So ends the tale of OG…


Session 48: I have a sinking feeling

  • We head back to Waterdeep and give orc splitter back to dwarves. They are happy and ask us to come back tomorrow.
  • They give us two magic items are as a reward: Drongar gets a sunblade and Nasaug gets a totem of mighty bearkind
  • We leave to head to the water node and decide to teleport to red larch.

Red larch

  • We find the Djinn has been deputized by the sheriff to help protect the people.
  • Although the sheriff thinks the Djinn is being controlled with his horn, the Djinn is free and letting the sheriff believe he is being ordered around.

Water node

  • we arrive back to the entrance to the water node to find a floating water orb and several dead water cultists with the water symbol carved in their chests.
  • Kilrin casts speak with dead on one of the dead water cultists to ask him 3 questions. He tells us: he’s the key, follow the flow to the end to reach the node, there’s no guardian waiting but there is a monster.
  • Drongar throws the corpse into the orb and it floats away.
  • We get in a boat and chase the orb.
  • After several passages we lose track of the orb and continue through the passages “following the flow”

We go shopping. We buy a lot of potions and stuff.

Nasaug goes outside and uses his transplant via plants spell to go deliver the seeds we retrieved in the fire node.

Dwarfs from the Order of the Gauntlet come and find myself and Kilrin. They want the remains of the Diadreck family. We give them the remains we found.

They ask us to help Gargash Blusterhelm who is on a quest to find the legendary burial chamber of a King. Legends say he is buried with the Axe of Orcslayer. We agree to help out his quest.

We meet him at a tavern the next morning. He’s sketched out. We agree to meet up in 2 hours. Nasaug goes with to make sure he’s ok. As they walk through the Gnomish Imperial Bank Nasaug is forced back into a human and taken into custody. After an hour of explaining how he didn’t know what was going on he paid a small 1000g fine and was let go.

When we meet up with him he explains someone stole the book from him. He explains he remembers it all anyway but we should head out. Nasaug guides us to a large tree in the forest and creates a gateway to get us closer on our path. We end up on West side of the Dwarven Bridge of False Expectation.

After much prodding he gives in and tells us his cousin is also looking for it and may have stolen his journal.

On the Dwarven Bridge of False Expectation we see some humans blocking the path. We killed a couple and took prisoner the mage. Turns out they were hired by Blusterhelms cousin.

Loot: +1 Wand of the Warmage

Kilrin uses his Necklace of Prayerbeads and castes Wind Walk. We turn into mist and fly towards our destination.

When we arrive at the ruins he explains that the next step is to find 4 ruins in the temple. As we approach on a winding path we see an owlbear on a cliff above. He lets us pass.

We get to the ruins. We see a crumbling statue in front.

We see four stairwells labels I, II, III, IV. We head down IV.

Down the stairwell we find the symbol for water and flywheel. We can turn it but it quickly unspins when we let it go.

Down the III stairwell we see the symbol of air. This flywheel we can turn and notice there is a way of locking it with the elemental symbol.

We go back to water and do the same.

Down the II stairwell we see the symbol of fire. We turn and lock this one as well.

Down the I stairwell we find the symbol of earth. We lock it.

Nothing happens.

We see movement at the amphitheater and nothing has changed at the statue. We head over to a tomb for a cliff.

We find a series of Dwarven tombs. We see the tomb of the dwarven dragonslayer who we found in the nodes. Knowing he is not buried here we open the tomb. A stone sword falls down on us. Investigating we notice a small hole in the wall that looks like it could fit the sword. Inserting the sword and turning it reveals a stairway going down.

We find four locks in an unlocked position. We solved the lock puzzle already, yay!

We get down to a large room with an altar. As we approach two Stone Golems come to life.

We kill them.

We hear a dwarf running up the stairs and a group of them come down. The group coming down the stairs is Blusterhelms cousin. They used a fake doppelganger to trick us to showing them where he is buried.

We find the Axe in a secret hallway with many gold ignots. The Axe really wants to kill Orcs and is good at it.

Session 46 - Gone With the Wind

Nick, Matt, Nat, Jase, Justin

Fendi still has true seeing on, and she can see through the node an invisible “alladin” style castle… probably Yan-C-Bin’s castle.

The winds are strong, the cyclone is gargantuan, our ressources are almost depleated.. how will be survive to destroy this weapon and this node?!

The node is 80 ft high, strong winds, 6 strong cultists: 3 casters and 3 fighters and a gargatuan cyclone stand before us.
The environment is stormy and randomly hits us with lightning, or taking our breath away… lots of constitution saves..

the fight begins.. it starts out rough… Drongar, Kilrin, Nasaug get sucked into the cyclone, they manage to escape

Fendira casts cone of cold, her last high level spell

we are backed into a corner and keep getting pummeled by lightning spells from the caster cultists, so Smitty casts a wall of force to make a barrier between us and the bad guys to help metigate that damage, it works beautifully.

Noswag is an Earth elemental, he decides to burrow under the wall to pop back up in the middle of the baddies – Smitty and Fendira follow in the tunnel. Fendi finds 2 scrolls of fireball in her pocket… and casts one from the protection of the hole.

Kilrin struggles to heal… too much damage is being taken from all sides! but he still manages to keep poeple alive… for now…

From the hole, Smitty uses his pokeball and takes out a bear, he then polymorphs it into a gargantuan mamooth

Fendi casts another Fireball from her staff this time

Noswag gets hit so much that he reverts back to his elven form… how does he play as an elf?! he is so confused.. however, he manages to cast a wall of stone in the shape of a very steep ladder that reaches the top of the node. then, he goes down from all the damage he then takes.

  • he is laying in the pool of blood, exactly where sacrifices are being made to Yan-C-Bin
  • one of the casters (the strong bitch) grabs a dagger from the pool of blood and stabs Noswag for one hit of death throw
  • the demon that was tied to her also attacks Noswag, 2nd fail of death throw…
  • BUT! Kilrin goes before the next baddie and with the wind majestically running through his hair, he heals Noswag saving him from death… it was so close

Fendira goes down in the tunnel, Smitty gives her a potion of healing – she is back up!

The mamooth is a good distraction and does damage, the adds are going down slowly,.. HARD FIGHT!!!

Drongar goes down… Kilrin is a healing machine! he heals Drongar and Fendi. which allows Fendi to cast spider climb on herself and start going up the ramp as the adds start falling

Only the Cyclone left, he starts to head towards Fendi on the ramp, BUT! with Drongar getting the 1st attack of opportunity on it, he reduces his movement speed to 0 and forces him to stay put, allowing Smitty to cast heat metal on the many weapons that are stuffed in it

Drongar is beat up… and to everyone’s surprise (even if he tried to do it in secret), NOSWAG HEALS DRONGAR…… HE CAN HEAL?!

As Fendira still making her way up the ramp with the weapon, The wind still majestically blowing in Kilrin’s hair, he decides to attack the cyclone as he is completely out of spells, he takes out his warhammer and hits the cyclone with an EPIC 6 damage… the cyclone goes down under his might!

Fendira completes the trek up the ramp and gets hit with a bolt of lightning as she is next to the node. with 5 HP left, bloody and depleated of almost all spells and resources, she throws the spear into the node.

Yan-C-Bin appears and wails in defeat. The wind dies down. The node is quiet and destroyed.

Fendira picks up her black hole from the hole, casts her Hut and we rest for 8h. Once we rest, Fendira teleports us to Waterdeep.

We all level to 13!

Session #45 - Passing Gas
Cavern of the Howling Winds

We are still in the Air node

We look at the Drow and aarakocra, plus two air cultists that are still hanging upside down in the debris littered room we fought the Nycaloth.

Smitty plays the harp to levitates Drongar to save the prisoners
The aarakocra is a female
They are pretty tortured
The two cultist are unconscious as well the aarakocra – drongar healed them
The drow is waking up
The aarakocra was captured by the feather Gale Knights and was being interrogated by the Nycaloth for weeks.
The drow thanks us but he wishes to leave…
He is named Balix, a historian, exploring the fane of the eye… see if the surfacers are here.
Smitty asks about the mind flayers that attack the dwarves of Delzoun form 700 years ago.
Grugain asks about the Devir family, and their links to the fane… nothing to report
He says all he knows of the air cultist plans is for the Summoning of Yan-C-Bin
He uses darkness and disappears (Smoke Bomb)

Drongart and Smitty approach the Air cultist who are very sullen and unspeaking. They were on the hook for questioning by Arissy. They have leather armor and dagger. Drongar tries to tell them a speech about goodness.. They don’t listen.. They are air heads according to the omni present and Godly voice of the DM.
“We feel empty…the wind sustains us”
Smitty double talks to them to try and discover about secrets
“We are not allowed in there”
Smytty gets info – Grugain get the empathic reading (insight) –
The cultist say “we can feel its power is North – the priest have spoken of howling winds..
We set them free and they run for the surface.
We try a short rest.. Drongar stands guard.. Nothing happens
Fendira cast true seeing – The magic eyes are still scrying us
They all over the place, they do not move (they go down the hallways) – they have been following us since the beginning
We go eastward with the knowledge of we are being watched, looking for the path northward.
We see a room of fungi and toadstools substance. They are different colors and some are edible and other are poisonous.
We are not sure we want to go but it seemed the only way..
Some glow and a sound of of water can be heard.
Fendira can identify some – spotted white – recognise at a flugush-shlop – mimic a potion of longevity

drongar and Fendira take some – one of the red ones are edible – three lavender mushroom – cure
two amber ones are magic – potion of heroism – Grugain takes one to help with reduced HP

Drongar tries a red one – con check – he then belches and fight off the poison (but get some hp back)
We find a large pond
Water glows with silvery fish,
A casket on a small island in the middle, on a column that goes 20 feet up
silvery fish. Regular under dark fish.
Grugain detects magic from the casket. I otherworldly leep but the fungus on the column make it slick. Grugain climbs to the top with effort. The casket is covered in the fungus. Fendra identifies it as yellow mold – spores, that is not good – light and fire can destroy it.
Fendira uses cold instead and the spores attacks us.
Grugain is affected by the poisoned.
Grugain gets to drongar for him to remove the poison.
Drongar lights a torch and hands it to Fendria
the mold shrieks and lights up like magnesium.
It reveals a dwarf casket.
Here rest Godwin the Wyrmbane, dragon slayer and peacemaker.
Smitty puts on his gloves and and looks to see if they have traps. none
He opens it and find a skeleton with a dragon battered breast plate made of iron. mitty puts it on the armor.

Smitty Removes the short sword and a low moan for the casket is heard Echoing through the room.
after he removes the sword. It is identified as a dragon slayer weapon (no need attunement) + 3d6 against dragons.
Smitty discovers that he is a knight of Basilmer… he slayed a few dragons.. His resting place was never known. UNTIL NOW
We continue north.. The stone passage way seems like it was melted..
Stalagmite and Stalactite .. The howling continues. We continue slowly
Spewing from the crack from the ooze, black pudding, directly in front of Grugain…SIGH!!!
it attacks me and dissolves His leather armor..
He mysty stepaway and uses blight it.
Drongra hits it with a radiant hammer attack and calls a divine might.
It actually screeches and howls .
smitty tries a wall of thorns around it seems to take damage from it. It tries to escape, Drongar hits it again and the thorns rips it to shreds some more, and they spit them into two.
Grugain blasts them with eldritch, not much happens.
Fendira blast it with fireball destroying them both.
We go back through the toadstool room and find another casm away from the lake.
100 feet deep.. We try to pass on the narrow ledge.
Smitty falls off the broom and feather falls.
Thunder fills the chasm and he is defended .. and he talking louder cause he can not hear himself… We all wish to kill him now…
smitty keeps getting knock back and forth in the chasm.
Drongar tries to pull him up, but falls also.
Smitty polymorphs into a giant spider and helps drongar up
The floor is uneven… a cavern lay ahead.
Fendira stealths ahead.. Grugain follows and he does not detect magic.
A larger room.. Whispering wind.
Grugain check to see if we are not being followed.
Its eerily quiet..
We do a perception check and find another large cavern.
We continue to advance at the size of this area.
We find a small area and a green light ahead.
Kyle asks for ominous music.
An intersection with a constant howl.. Green brazier and rock columns..
Blood ropes gore splattered columns

Drongar and Grugain approach to help the women, and we are attacked by 2 huge Balgoras
They resemble chim char- chim cham’s evil brother
They demons – they step out of invisibility..
One hits drongar with a critical… he is poisoned. .
Grugain blasted him and pushed him back with repelling blast.
Smitty cast Oto’s irresistible dance.
Like an orangutan he starts to dance uncontrollably
“Hello my baby, hello my darling, hello my ragtime Gaaaaaal”
then he does the monkey.
Fendira hits it with an vitriolic sphere with (acid damage).
Grugain gets hit with reckless abandon and take a massive amounts of damage.
But He then blasts him afterwards with destructive effect.
Smitty destroys him also with an eldritch blast.
One of the women Naris gladam (farmer from red larch) and the other Disianne Norvael. From the water deep delegation – drongar heal them.
They were going to be sacrifice (last two) one on each pillars..
10 human sacrifices in total.
The devout cultist are up head she says.
They have a spot where they feed on air..
Drongar continues down.
The wind is so strong he has to do a STR save
Grugain follows him and we need to also hold ourselves.
Dust everywhere.
More green flame in the brasier.
Howling Hatred priest but seem mutated (have not eaten in months as they eat air) are int the room
Their robes are flapping but are not affected as e are by the wind.
Fendira and Smitty want to cast a fireball…
arcana to make sure the fire will not come back to us.
Captain drongar says DO IT!!!!!!!!.
They fireball the four of them and it comes back our way but only singes our eyes brow..
We looks surprised and ridiculous.
They evaporate into ash.
Grugain uses Dancing light to illuminate the area after Drongar’s torch dies.
We use the immovable rod to move forward
We arrive into a massive room where Three claws like pillars comes out of the ground. Large and impressive
Thunder and a storm cloud in the middle of it. We can see an endless sky in the middle and a silvery window to the evil air element Plane.
Cultist all around
One calls as they see us and says “They have arrived!”…
Above the three claw pilars forms a massive cyclone creature .. swords and armors swirling in its wind gusts… It gargantuan size…

WE are in trouble

Session 44

Loot: Find 5x Balloon pack gives feather fall and levitate
Players: Nat, Jase, Ben, Nick, Justin

-Investigate an orb. Fendira touches orb and spawns a tornado. We killed some flying swords.
-Find giant worm the leads to the air temple. Could have found the node 20 sessions ago.
-Find giant hole. Jump down and are still alive.
-Walk down a dark tunnel, which we determine is built by dark gnomes
-Find another chasm with fog. Nasaug and Grugain investigate. We cross the chasm
-Find a mass dark gnome grave. They were killed by the air prophet in an early devistating orb test
-Their ghosts attack us and we slay them
-Find a Nycaloth torturing 4 people
-Killed Nycaloth

Session 43: Smitty's gone crazy

Rest up

  • After defeating the fire dragon, the group takes a much needed long rest inside Fendira’s hut.
  • During the night, Smitty is plagued by dreams.

Smitty’s dream

  • Smitty awakes to find himself trapped 700 years in the past.
  • He has two children: bronzesmith & windpipe.
  • Smitty lives a life in Del’zun peacefully for years until one day it becomes ensalved by mind flayers
  • Smitty family is killed and he becomes a salve to the mind flayers.
  • Smitty awakes in a panic. The magic harp explains he has shared his life’s memories with Smitty.
  • Smitty is mumbling random sounds to a harp. He’s clearly cracked. He keeps saying the harp is talking….

Rescue survivors

  • We finish searching the fire node for any survivors (found a couple).
  • Nasaug casts Wind walk and we all turn into wisps of air allowing us all to fly out of the fire node.
  • We tell the survivors to fly out to the earth template and get to a town for help.


  • We continue searching for the other nodes until we enter a room with 2 giants playing tick, tack, toe
  • Smitty manages to convince a giant to bet his weapon in a game.
  • Smitty wins and we end up having to kill both giants.
  • We find a fungus room
  • We find what looks like the water node entrance
  • We find a barracks and kill all the soldiers.
  • We continue searching and discover

I took the gold given out to the party and divided by five (max player count) since I believe that’s what we agreed. People who get cut or can’t make it don’t water down the party’s challenge rating loot, and each character is getting a prescribed amount of gold for our levels (as far as I know). Since we’re never more than five players around the table I think this makes sense.
